Supplement No. 1, “Official List of Approved Brands and Markings” of the Aluminum Futures Contract The approved amendments formalize the name of the producer and change the brand insignia incised on the aluminum T-bars produced by the Bratsk Aluminum Smelter, the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Smelter, the Novokuznetsk Aluminum Smelter and the Sayanogorsk Aluminum Smelter. The former brands continue to remain acceptable for delivery.

As has been CME's procedure for the past three years in reacting to the Central Bank of Brazil's change of procedures for publishing the end of year "PTAX rate," CME is changing the termination of trading day for the January 2004 Brazilian real futures and options contracts from Wednesday, December 31, 2003 to Tuesday, December 30, 2003.

The approved rule permits the execution of swap transactions in the Exchange’s Grade 1 Copper Futures Contract in the thirteenth (13th) to twenty-fourth (24th) contract months and is effective on January 1, 2004. The rule will continue in effect for an initial term of three years from the effective date or until terminated by the Exchange Board of Directors or its designee.
