External Meetings: Meeting with Barbara Roper, Consumer Federation of America

The group discussed a variety of issues, with a focus on sales practices. In particular, issues of "advisory" status were discussed with respect to a swap dealer's role and commodity trading advisor requirements. In addition, the Chairman raised questions re: a  best-execution requirement and how it might be implemented. The group discussed the corresponding broker/dealer requirements pursuant to SEC regulations.
