CFTC’s Division of Market Oversight Director, Dorothy DeWitt, to Depart Agency

Acting Chairman Rostin Behnam Names Acting Director

— The Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced that Division of Market Oversight (DMO) Director Dorothy DeWitt will step down from her role as Director today. Ms. DeWitt has led DMO since joining the agency in September 2019.

“On behalf of the entire Commission, I thank Dorothy for the commitment, dedication, and leadership she has demonstrated as DMO Director,” said CFTC Acting Chairman Rostin Behnam. “Her focus on serving the public as well as supporting her Commission colleagues through advocating for greater diversity and staff recognition is commendable, and we wish her the best in future endeavors.”

Upon Ms. DeWitt’s departure, Office of International Affairs Associate Director Meghan Tente will serve as the Division’s Acting Director. Ms. Tente began her CFTC career in the Division of Clearing and Risk and previously served in a number of different capacities in DMO from 2017-2020, including Acting Deputy Director.

“Meghan is a proud product of the CFTC’s intern program, and has spent her career at the CFTC developing expertise in a number of areas. We are very excited Meghan has agreed to take on this new challenge,” said Acting Chairman Behnam. 

Ms. Tente received her Juris Doctorate from Cornell University School of Law and completed her undergraduate studies at Brown University.
