CFTC’s Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee to Meet November 13

November 13, 2023

CFTC Commissioner Summer K. Mersinger, sponsor of the Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee (EEMAC), announced the EEMAC will hold a public meeting on Monday, November 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (EST) at CFTC’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. Members of the public may also attend the meeting virtually or in person, if space permits.

At this meeting, the EEMAC will get an update from the two EEMAC subcommittees and discuss the state of certain traditional energy markets. A formal agenda for this meeting is forthcoming. For agenda updates and more information about this advisory committee, including its members, please visit EEMAC at cftc.gov.

“Both of the EEMAC subcommittees have been hard at work since the summer, and I am eager for them to give updates on their progress.” said Commissioner Mersinger. “The issues and topics they are examining and addressing are complex and intricate, yet affect ordinary American households nonetheless. How the state of infrastructure affects traditional energy sources, like oil and naturals, and how the dynamics of the metals markets affect electrification in the United States directly impacts the price of energy and food we consume every day.”

Members of the public may watch a live webcast or listen to the meeting via conference call using a domestic or international number to connect to a live, listen-only audio feed. People requiring special accommodations to attend the meeting because of a disability should notify Lauren Fulks, the EEMAC Secretary, at (816) 787-6297 or [email protected].
