CFTC’S TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MEET IN CHICAGO ON NOVEMBER 27, 2001

Pre-Registration Before November 25 Is Required

Washington, D.C. -- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) will meet on Tuesday, November 27, 2001, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, 230 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, Illinois.

The Committee is chaired by CFTC Commissioner Thomas J. Erickson and was created by the Commission for the purpose of obtaining input on emerging technologies, the impact of technology on financial services and commodity markets, and the appropriate legislative or regulatory response to increasing use of technology in the markets. Its members represent electronic markets, electronic communication systems, U.S. futures exchanges, a self-regulatory organization, financial intermediaries, market users, and traders.
