U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Revokes the Registration of Risk Capital Trading Group, Inc.

Washington, D.C.— The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today the January 23, 2007, issuance of an order revoking the registration of Risk Capital Trading Group, Inc. (Risk Capital) as an Introducing Broker (IB). The order finalized a December 20, 2006, initial order issued by a CFTC Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). The initial order stemmed from a CFTC statutory disqualification proceeding brought against Risk Capital in September 2006.

In the initial order, the ALJ entered a default judgment against Risk Capital and found that appropriate bases existed for revoking Risk Capital’s registration as an IB because Risk Capital entered into a settlement in Federal District Court in Georgia which, among other things, (1) found that Risk Capital had violated certain anti-fraud provisions of the Commodity Exchange Act and the CFTC’s regulations, and (2) establishes a permanent injunction against Risk Capital. (See CFTC News Release 5222-06, August 30, 2006.)

The following CFTC Division of Enforcement staff members are responsible for this case: Anne M. Termine, Daniel C. Jordan, Kathleen Banar, Richard Glaser, and Richard Wagner.
