The amendments relate to the Eurex US X-Factor Program, which is designed to initiate liquidity in Eurex US Treasury futures contracts (2, 5, and 10-year note futures and 30-year bond futures). The amendments will add a minimum monthly volume requirement for all market makers and will increase the size of qualifying aggressive orders from 50 to 100 contracts for purposes of the Revenue Share Program.

Eurex US is amending a number of its rules, including: 1) adding a requirement to register all automatic order generators (AOGs) or black boxes; 2) permitting trades to be crossed immediately under certain circumstances and allowing the initiation of the waiting period for other cross trades through RFQ; 3) reducing the minimum amount for block trades involving options on US Treasury contracts to 500 contracts outright and permitting the aggregation of separate legs of an options trade to meet the minimum amount if each leg involved consists of at least 200 contracts; 4) clarifying that where an unregistered intermediary executes a block trade on behalf of a customer, that it is appropriate for the customer; and 5) changing the strike price intervals for options on the 10-year US treasury Notes and 30-Year US Treasury Bonds to half-points from full-points.
