The open Commission meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 1997, has been canceled in order to permit the Commissioners and Commission staff to attend a memorial service for Dr. Blake Imel, the Commission's Acting Chief Economist, who passed away on Sunday, April 20, 1997.
The two matters scheduled for discussion: Third Quarter FY 1997 Objectives; and a report by the Division of Economic Analysis recommending that the Commission adopt changes to its reporting rules to require that futures commission merchants, clearing members and foreign brokers file daily options large trader reports, will be handled on a seriatim basis.
