CFTC APPOINTS MARVIN JACKSON TO BE EASTERN REGIONAL

OFFICE COORDINATOR

Washington--The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Commission) announced today the appointment of Marvin Jackson to serve as the regional coordinator of its Eastern Regional Office, effective January 5, 1997. Jackson succeeds Howard Bodenhamer who is retiring after 27 years with the Commission and its predecessor, the Commodity Exchange Authority.

Jackson, began his career as an auditor with the Registration and Audit Branch of the Commodity Exchange Authority in 1968. In 1975, Jackson became an auditor in the Financial Audit and Review Branch of the Commission's Eastern Regional Office, and has served as its Chief since 1984.

Mr. Jackson received a B.S. degree in Accounting from Virginia State College in 1965.
