CFTC CHAIRMAN NEWSOME TO ADDRESS ABA MEETING

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman James E. Newsome will be the luncheon speaker today at the Winter Meeting of the American Bar Association's Committee on Futures and Derivative Instruments, 12:45 p.m., Coral Gables, Florida. In his remarks the Chairman will discuss, among other things, single stock futures, the Enron situation, his personal view of the agency's proper role as an oversight regulator, and the recently announced restructuring of the CFTC.
