CFTC Announces Agenda for Upcoming Agricultural Advisory Committee Meeting

U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to Present on the State of the Agriculture Economy

Washington, DC — The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today the agenda for the upcoming Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at its headquarters in Washington, DC. The agenda includes USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack, who will present on the state of the agriculture economy. The meeting will focus on issues related to deliverable supplies of agricultural commodities, as they pertain to position limits, and the agricultural economy. CFTC Chairman Timothy Massad is the sponsor of this Advisory Committee.  The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Randall Fortenbery of Washington State University.  For the discussion on Position Limits Deliverable Supply and Bona Fide Hedging, the Commission has re-opened the comment period for the Position Limits Rulemaking, see CFTC News Release 7072-14.
