    CFTC Seeks Public Comment on Request from Natural Gas Exchange Inc. for an Amendment to its Order of Registration as a Derivatives Clearing Organization

    Washington, DC –The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is asking for public comment on a petition submitted by the Natural Gas Exchange Inc. (NGX), for an amendment to its order of registration as a derivatives clearing organization. Specifically, NGX is requesting that the Commission’s Order of Registration that restricts NGX’s clearing activities to certain energy and over-the-counter contracts only, be amended to permit it to clear foreign futures.

    Comments should be submitted on or before November 30, 2012. Comments may be submitted electronically through the CFTC’s Comments Online process. All comments received will be posted on the Commission website.
