Mr. Berkovitz gave a presentation on the status of CFTC's rulemakings to implement the Dodd-Frank legislation. Questions following the presentation concerned the extent of consultation and co-ordination between the CFTC and other financial regulators, the general breadth and scope of the comments received by the agency, and the extent to which the CFTC will phase-in the various new clearing and reporting requirements to take into account the ability of market participants to develop systems and procedures for complying with the new regulations.
